Flagstaff, AZ and Barstow, CA

No blog last night....way too tired. and the same thing goes for tonight but i guess it wouldn't be right to not post when this journey is almost over. Flagstaff was super cool! Everyone was very nice...the hotel had free wine and the food was really good. went to a brewery that was really good.

Now we're in Barstow at Erin and Scott's. Had a nice dinner at a whole in the wall Mexican place.. Tomorrow Mom, Andrew, and I are going to begin the process of taking everything out of my car and find a spot for it in my new room. Yay!!! My new life is about to begin!!!

Tucumcari, New Mexico

Wow! Mom and I have made it through 4 states today...yeah. As soon as we hit Oklahoma City, the temperature dropped. I think I forgot what if felt like to be really cold. The wind was crazy!!! And Mom really couldn't stop talking about how she was go glad we had all my crap in the back or we would have blown away. The song is really true...about the "wind sweeping down the plains". I used the restroom in the home town of Carrie Underwood...always gotta add those lovely tidbits! We drove through miles of nothing....no people, not many places...but the sunset was beautiful and it seemed like it lasted for at least an hour!

Now we're in Tucumcari. We ate at this place called Del's that was amazing!!! Tried these things called sofinisbas...or something like that. So good! It was fried tortilla dough with honey...yumm!

Tomorrow we're off to Flagstaff, AZ.

Little Rock, AR

So today was interesting to say the least!!!

Today I translated an Tennessean conversation, almost ran over a mattress on the interstate, learned that one should always bring their lawn chair when hitchhiking, met an Irish Diving Goat in Memphis...and Mom thought she found a used condom under her bed. Many more crazy things happened today as well but to be quite honest...I'm so tired I can't remember them all.

We stopped in Memphis, TN and had some awesome BBQ while we listened to some amazing blues musicians...I got to use the little girl's room at Johnny Cash's rest stop...and after that Mom and I proceed to sing the entire "Walk the Line" Soundtrack as we drove past Jackson, TN.

A word to the wise...if you can, bypass Little Rock, AR. Mom and I have decided that Arkansas is probably our least favorite state and we're not exactly sure why but we have come to this consensus....but this is just our opinion...You be your own judge!

Kodak, TN

So Mom and I have made it to Kodak, TN and it is surprisingly warm! I'm dying for a shower and some good food...but for a first day, I think our trip is going very well. We stopped by Appalachian State so Mom could re-live her college days for a bit and it's a very cute campus, snuggled right into the mountains!!!

We stopped at the Holiday Inn Express, which is super swanky if I do say so myself...but the coolest thing is...we have lady bugs in our room. I think that's just got to be a good sign right!?

11 days and counting...

In 11 days I will be leaving my home of almost 11 years, and heading to a new life in San Diego, California. I'm excited, nervous, ready...so many things! I've gotten a job with a property management group but I have a feeling that this job will lead to bigger and better opportunities for me. I guess I'm all grown up now. I even have the title to my car! I'll miss my closest buds but I'm moving towards some new people in my life that could become just as close to me, if not closer.
